Yahaira Lidia Reyes Jimenez (Naïve Art by YLR) is a self-taught visual artist working primarily in figurative painting and mixed media, drawing on her Dominican and black heritage and experiences in Ireland and the Netherlands. She uses acrylics, gold leaf, modeling paste, metallic pigments, and impasto within the naïve and folk art tradition, embracing vibrant color and texture. Her art radiates love for Afro-Caribbean and Taíno cultural identity while evoking resilience, warmth, and a moving sense of belonging for those whose stories risk being forgotten.
