Abstract Composition No.2 - Kareem Rizk

Torn and cut paper shapes in coral, teal, yellow and cream are layered across a scratched blue-grey ground. A thick black ring sits on the largest coral panel, a wedge of black and white stripes cuts in from above, and scraps of old print show through along the edges. Creases, scuffs and faded colour are left in plain view.

Built as a collage of torn and cut paper, old print and painted shapes, layered so that every edge and worn surface stays visible. Kareem Rizk is an Australian collage and mixed media artist who lives and works in Denmark, building densely layered works from re-purposed printed ephemera, with a background in graphic design and a long-standing affinity for typography. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
