Decay (4) - Lone Gjessing

The side of an abandoned car fills the frame, its door and roofline eaten through with orange rust and pale flaking paint. The windows are empty and dark, and spruce branches lean in over the roof. The picture stays close, so the metal reads almost as a landscape of its own.

Photographed in the forest and printed with the colour drawn almost out of it, so that only the rust keeps its warmth against the grey-green trees. Lone Gjessing is a Danish photographer and artist who also works with jewellery making and crafts. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
