Most of what hangs on the walls of our customers was not made by a design department. It was made by one person, at a desk or an easel somewhere in the world, who then decided to let us print it. ARTSY FARTSY works with more than 1,000 independent artists — illustrators, painters, photographers and designers — and they are the reason the shop looks the way it does.
Where they come from
Some are a bike ride from our shop in Copenhagen. Many are not. Raissa Oltmanns draws her bold, confident women in Hamburg. Mariam De Giorgio paints the everyday life of Malta. Rocio Montoya fuses bodies with flowers in Madrid. Monyuri carves names and faces in London. Jaron Su paints small, detailed stories in Eindhoven after growing up in Taiwan. René J paints the human figure in Denmark. What they share is not a style — it is that each of them has a voice you can recognise from across a room.

How an artist joins
Artists apply through our own artist portal and upload their work. Every piece is reviewed before it goes into the shop. Once approved, we create the product, prepare the print files and give the artist their own page, like Raissa Oltmanns or Thomas Nordentoft.
What the artist gets
- A royalty on every sale. Each time a print is sold, the artist is paid.
- Their rights. The artist keeps the copyright to their work. We print it; we do not own it.
- Freedom. Most artists are free to sell their work elsewhere too. Some choose to make pieces available only through us — those are marked Artsy Exclusive.
- The heavy lifting done. We print, frame, pack, ship and market. The artist makes art.
Why it matters when you buy
A poster bought here is not an anonymous print. When you choose Thomas Nordentoft's Tree of Life or one of Tara Green's reworkings of Hilma af Klint, part of what you pay goes to the person who made it. That is also why so many of our best sellers are by living artists rather than by famous names — people like knowing who is behind the picture on their wall.
